2003 KTM 250 sx has no gear oil fill plug because previous owner put after market carbon fiber cover on right side  need help because I'm pretty sure its low but I can't check nor fill

so you need something like this with a dipstick thingy - or make up your own dipstick

Do you have an image of what you have? I don't understand why the fill plug wouldn't be there.

If the inspection/check plug can't be accessed you could just drain the oil and fill with the correct amount (.7L)

If it doesn't have a fill plug. Then drain it and lay it on its side and refill it through the drain hole.

That is absolutely bizarre. Certainly never seen or heard of this before. Ever. Try and get a used cover - should be plenty for sale. Part no is 5513002600015 and all model year 250 sx/exc from 2003 to 2012 fit. A new cover from KTM isn't all that expensive either.

? But that cover was a pretty dumb idea, can't imagine anyone doing that. Probably someone who would buy a Dumbcarb.

Yes please,  post a pic of this cover, I'd love to see it .   can't imagine why someone would design a trans cover with no fill port

could it be that the cover is covering the fill hole and cap?
