What does TT-R stand for/mean?

Recommended Posts

I wondered the same thign, google told me this:

"The "-R" on the end is the standard Yamaha designation for a "race" model, meaning that its engine and suspension are harder core, set up for competition off the showroom floor. So, "TT-R," if it can be said to mean anything specific, could mean either "T-Model Trail-bike, Race," or "Time Trial, Race."

Also someone posted here: Old Yamaha fourstrokes were TT's (TT250, 350, 500, 600 etc...), the R is just added by the marketing department.
