Reed Rides Red

Recommended Posts

Well. I stand corrected.  A couple weeks ago I said he had something worked out with Husky for the 19 season.  Apparently that info was a bit premature.  It doesn't look like he has any gig worked out with Husky and at this moment has no gig worked out with anyone.  I just don't know how he can find any consistency in getting bikes dialed in when he keeps changing bikes every year.

That was you!?!?  You said he would be riding the RockOut with your CockOut Edition HSQs!  You &%$#@!in liar!

The Honda isn't anything new.  He was testing Hondas last year before he settled on HSQ.

Well, things were in the works but things happened and Husky said thanks, but no thanks.

Maybe Reed can secure sponsorship from AARP, Geritol, Efferdent, and Life Alert.  He could probably get Depends as his title sponsor and be shittin' pretty for next year.

And Viagra.

Yeah I thought that was odd last year as well.  Maybe his injury was the problem and the fact he is stupid cross only but you would think someone with his star power in the sport would be able to find sponsors.  I think this is a trend (an prob the norm from here on out) the last few years.  Sponsors are becoming much tighter with their wallets.

couple things to consider...

ankle injurys take a long time to heal

Last year was likley just ridding to stay in it but not to win it

Reed still has speed but showed very little of that ability during SX and I suspect on purpose

IF IF IF his body will put up with the training, AND his spirit is willing to put in the work, he can podium consistantly

im not a fan, I really dont care, but I suspect he can run top 3 pace IF........

Top 6 perhaps, but that’s my guess season long. Podium once in a while, when things go his way.

Because dirt bikes are dead, might as well just start shopping for your SxS today.

I'll always be a Reed fan.  15+ years ago for my youngest son's 18 birthday I told him I'd take him to a SX anywhere he wanted to go.  He chose St Louis.  I was able to get some all access passes from a friend and after he won the race we were back in the pits.  Reeds mechanic was taking all of the plastic off the bike and I told him we had traveled from Ca for this race and it was my son's day.  He handed him the front plate off the bike and said to wait around for CR to get back to the hauler after the press conference.

When CR got back the mechanic told him what was going on and he came over to us and congratulated my son on his big day.  He asked my kid if he was happy to get the plate and of course my kid was thrilled beyond belief.  CR took the plate and went into the hauler and came back out with a Sharpie and signed it for him.  That made the B-Day even better!!

I want to see him do good next year...even if he is on Red Death.  The 450 field for next year will be pretty deep and in all honesty I don't expect to see him win but I sure would like to see him be able to get on the box every now and then.  IMO, for that to happen might also be unrealistic but as the season wears on and the injuries mount you never know what can happen.
