kx125 nikasil

Just a quick question I cant seem to find the answer for.

What years did kawi use nikasil in for the kx125??

Just curious more then anything. Cant find the answer and its bothering me so I am asking the forum because you all seem to know everything  at times haha.

not sure exactly, but i think it dates back to the early 90's if not older.

They never used Nikasil exactly. If you mean when did they use a plated cylinder, EVERY KX125 used a plated cylinder starting in 1974. They used Electrofusion from 1974 - 2002, then a chrome composite from 2003 - 2008.

 

EDIT add-on: That was when new. If you are asking about a used cylinder, then some previous owner could have had it sleeved, but it did not come from the factory like that.
