HELP Knocking Sound Coming From Engine

Hey today was just doing some wheelies around the block then I noticed a knocking sound coming from my engine area. Please help me to resolve this problem thanks.

Hey just started the bike to see if for what ever reason it stoped and it did. So it seems as if it only happens when it is hot. Any reason why that would be?[/quote

Oil thins when it's hot , also the oil pump may suck air during lengthy wheelies.

What oil should I be using and do you think I should maybe add some more oil?

Try checking the oil level first with the bike level and the engine cold

Okay, do you know what the valve adjustments are? I believe they are .002 but I am not sure

10/40 oil , a slight overfill may help. Valves don't knock.

Are you sure because I searched up the problem and that what everyone says it to check the valve clearances

Should I be using synthetic or conventional

I was just going to adjust my valves and I was going to bring the piston to top dead center but the cover for the sprocket won’t come off due to a stripped bolt. Any one know a different way to get to top dead center?

You have to remove the ignition cover in order to align the "T" mark with the notch on the engine case. Use a slightly bigger screwdriver and smack the end of it with a hammer while turning it counterclockwise, unless of course you already have an impact driver set to use.

And the engine is still ticking. It’s not as much as before but it’s still happening. Should I maybe put the intake to 0.003?

It's not the valves. It's likely either cam chain slap or a rod bearing.

It’s coming from the top end so it can’t be a rod bearing. Will the cam chain being loose cause any damage? If so how do I go about tightening it?
