1993 WR250ZE Piston?

I have a 1993 WR250ZE that I need a piston for. All of the pistons on eBay and other stores cost $100 or more dollars. I am wondering what year pistons from wr's or yz's fit this model. I know 1992 is the same, but the pistons are just as expensive. Are there any better-priced pistons?

I paid $60 for a 2002 YZ 125 piston + ring set, so for a 1993 WR250 (Older Bikes=Harder to find parts) $100 isn't too bad.

Once you figure out your size, decide on the brand.

If $100 seems like a lot for that important of a part, you need to consider another hobby. Or start asking for overtime at work and selling your plasma.

what i did is go on the pro-x catalog and found the part # for the piston i needed (in my case a 68.5mm piston because i have an iron liner and bored it) paste into ebay or google and sort by price. found the piston i needed for $60.

What is wrong with Namura? They seem to have decent prices. I am thinking about Pro-X, is that good?

Everett, take all the ribbing with a grain of salt. For what you have I would get the Pro x items all from rmatv. OEM of course would be my route for that if they are affordable.

Doesn't matter about age, or status of school grade, grow a little thicker skin. That way when you crash, you'll have it for protection. If you can't take a joke, I get it! It's the age group. 

Namur is garbage, or could be great for 0-15 hours. But why not get a piston that can give you 5X the hours? 

5X garbage, is more than 1X quality.

ProX is one I linked you to. You will need to know the size and condition of the bore, to get the correct piston. I said that also!

Oh, and welcome to the smoking section. As in 2 strokes use oil in the fuel and smoke a little. So they got the nickname Smokers.

But it does not come with anything else I need, I have the bearing, I believe it is called a wrist pin bearing, but no rings, the metal tube that goes the piston, or circlips

Which is better for trail and woods riding, OEM or Wiseco? I think OEM is cast, Wiseco is forged correct? My dad has a few 2-smokes and my friend has a kx-250 so I works on 2-strokes mainly. I have pretty much rebuilt this bike, and I want to get it done so I can ride it, but I have almost hit the limit of my budget.

You are better off with a kit. (Piston, wrist pin, C-Clips)

I run Vertex, and ProX pretty exclusive. Vertex is KTM OEM, and ProX comes from the same factory as OEM.

I have built many of engines, and you need to understand condition and size matters.

Correct in composition, and you will never fall within budget on a dirt scoot.

you need to measure the bore and figure out what size piston you need to bring the clearance into spec. why would a flywheel weight affect what piston you need?

How do you know it's a D? Have you had the jug off and measured the bore to know the D size will be the one you need? What is the condition of the walls?, are there any signs of wear?

One at a time please?? I did measure the bore, at Moto1. Also, this is a YAMAHA, a YAMAHA, calm down. There is a stamp on the outside of the cylinder, you know the stamp that tell you what size piston to get? A, B, C, D? Mine is a D, I was just wondering if a flywheel weight would hurt a cast or forged piston, calm down.
