2015 YZ250 Engine Vibration

Recommended Posts

Recently picked up a like new 2015 YZ250 for my son who's moving up from a 125 for hare scrambles.  Man, this thing vibrates like crazy, kind of a lower frequency that makes the rear fender a blur while it's idling.  The bike has probably less than 10 hrs on it, and I don't think the engine has ever been apart.  I've been off of 250 2t for some years now and never owned a YZ of this design.  Is it normal for this much  vibration on these bikes?

Thanks

Fuel powered vibrators, it's 2 stroke life. (some may be less)

I would go through the bike anyway to make sure nothing is loose. I've never had the problem, but some have had primary bolt back out.

A flywheel weight can make it less vibey.

You can send the cranks to CrankWorks for a balance (remember piston etc.) but it's about as much as the crank itself.

Thanks, Doc.  I did put a GYTR flywheel weight on it, no real improvement.  Timing is retarded two degrees and kingers recipe for jetting too. Racing/riding season here in the Mitten is coming to an end real soon, probably do some more investigating when the snow flies.
