2007 KTM 250 sf-x, possible problems. HELP please

Recommended Posts

Just picked up this 2007 KTM250SXF, been bored over to a 298. Runs fine, cranks fine. No smoke. Per the original owner it sat for 2-3 years, I changed the oil Friday, as soon as I pulled the drain plug, it looked discolored, rest of oil looked fine. I was told possible head gasket problems. I read today that if the coolant bubbles, it means my head gasket is messed up/blown. Any help? New rider

the oil should look dark brown . If the oil looks "milky" that means you have coolant in the oil. Just google "milky oil" for reference

to measure the engines health, run a compression test. If the head gasket is blown, you will have low compression. Or just pull the head off, and inspect the gasket. Do NOT run the bike until you figure this out. You can fry the motor pretty fast.
