1996 CR250R

Recommended Posts

Hey guys new to the Honda world just bought a 96 CR250R I have stripped down to the frame starting a winter project build. Anyone know where to get parts for older bikes? Also any suggestions going into this things I should look for? Cylinder is good piston had some scratching clutch looks like it needs to be replaced. Anything common on these that typically go especially bottom end? I plan on splittingI know it’s not as old as others but would like it to make it look nice having the frame powder coated thanks-Mike IMG_1758.JPG56167385914__D2461964-3208-46F3-9652-32E3C22EFC9D.JPGIMG_1780.JPGIMG_1781.JPG

I have had great experience with RockyMountain they got a LOT of parts available for this bike. They have the OEM Honda crankshaft for $280 that is not much more than the 'hot rods' one. I like OEM myself since the quality is excellent. They have the Pro-X piston kit and all sorts of parts available. I would have the Stock OEM crank pressed and use the Pro-X rod kit over the 'hot rods' (just my preference).
