CRF450L Flameout?

Spent  a week emailing back and forth Honda Uk trying to get some answers to the stalling and twitchy throttle issues.

A waste of time, the conversation just went round in circles and ended with him giving me a link to an arbitration organisation!

Honda Australia seem to have the solution wrapped up nicely with their bikes now. You can buy it stock with $1500 off to buy your own cure or they will supply with a votex ecu, new pipe and enduro graphics. Well done Australia ?

If you buy an Eu version DONT  BUY the power up kit. Buy the votex Ecu instead. It will cure your problems plus you can add a pipe and set a map to suit.

If like me yours had the power up kit (Usa spec Ecu and manifold tube) get a JD Jetting tuner. You can run a stock or aftermarket pipe then. I also bought a throttle tamer for it too.

Its a fantastic bike ( bit heavier than my Crf250x) and a pleasure to ride on the road linking trails, but Honda Uk should pay attention and communicate between its customers and Honda Japan instead of fobbing them off.

I have also done a tail tidy which cost £3 and didn't involve damaging any stock parts and uses the reflector and number plate light so its all 100% mot legal ?

Search ebay for something like this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORCYCLE-ENDURO-REAR-FENDER-LED-STOP-BRAKE-TAIL-LIGHT-for-DRZ-KLX-KMX-WR/293405216902?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225082%26meid%3D7e589dd5ac6e4862975eccddb970a822%26pid%3D100935%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dco%26sd%3D162238846694%26itm%3D293405216902%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2332490&_trksid=p2332490.c100935.m2460

Remove the led light that was supplied then bolt the plastic peice ito the back of the bike in place of the  original using bolts and rubber spacers taken from original assembly.

Cut  the reflector down and nount it along with the original number plate light where the led light was. The number plate light will now fit through the original hole and connect back onto the wiring loom

Have a bit over 500 miles on the bike so I'm barely broken in. Completely stock 2019 bike. I had flameout issues all the time from day 1. Read around about raising my idle. It did help out a little bit, but I would still stall when I'm riding a tight technical trail with the bike hot and the fan blasting away. For me I ended up putting in a vortex(release 5 firmware). Map 5 everything still stock. So far I think it is the fix. I'll need a few more rides to know for sure. Feels like my old carb bikes again. When you get this motor hot I really don't think the stock ecu can prevent stalling. Feels like the solution depends on the rider's needs. Tight trails and hill climbs I don't think the stock ecu is rich enough with low end fuel. Coming from someone that has always rejetted stock bikes.
