2007 Gas gas 280 rear break issues

Recommended Posts

Hi all ,

a little back story, was riding a trial and lost rear brake all together.

so I rebuild rear master cylinder , still know pressure

bought new rear master cylinder and still no pressure

rear piston won’t move with pedal pressed

so removed rear wheel and pushed pistons back , can not get pressure

back bleeding pushes fluid all way from bleed nipple and flows free up to brake reservoir so no blockages

i am stumped , could it be rear caliber seals ?

Good idea , I will have to try that .

Will the brake pedal have to be depressed when pushing fluid from the top down ?

it shouldn't, just open the bleed nipple and force the fluid through, i prefer to use a large 60ml syringe

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder before attaching the hose? That helps, as does hanging up the whole works with the MC at the highest point and back bleeding it as described.
