davisjj Posted November 25, 2018 A lot of posts talk about removing the airbox snorkel, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. Is this it in the attached photo?
cooldudesmd Posted November 25, 2018 Yes. Drill out that rivet in the back. Remove snorkel, store in trash can.
davisjj Posted November 25, 2018 Thanks. Just wanted to make sure before I start yanking things out. Doesn't look like what I expected a snorkel to look like . . .?
JoeRC51 Posted November 25, 2018 It's not a snorkel , it's an inlet restrictor.
cooldudesmd Posted November 25, 2018 It's not a snorkel , it's an inlet restrictor. Is that different from a snorkel only in that is doesn’t have a raised wall? Either way OP, get rid of it.

Snorkel implies it's for water , it's not , it's for sound attenuation of the intake. It also restricts intake air so the motor doesn't ping with the stock strangled exhaust.

If you've never had your pig that deep in the water, shame on you!
