fojo4404 Posted November 26, 2018 My fridge is draining my RV battery when running on propane. Anything I can try before calling a service tech?
kxlubber Posted November 27, 2018 Fridge still uses 12v to regulate the propane, just the way it goes.
woods-rider Posted November 27, 2018 It will drain the battery very slowly as it uses 12v to ignite the propane each time it needs to cool down, and 12v to open and close the propane valve. That said, you should be able to run for at least a week on a full charge if you aren't using any other 12v equipment to drain the battery. How have you isolated it down to the fridge as the source of power drain? Most RV fridges are 3-way: 125 VAC, 12 VDC, and propane (which also requires 12 VDC). If you have the fridge on 12 VDC setting, it will drain even the best batteries very quickly.
