Opinions on this bike. WR 200

Recommended Posts

I have an i.t 200 and it's a great trail bike. Solid, very dependable, easy to work on, but, it's just so old and old tech. I'd love to replace it with another 200 stroke, but, I don't care for Kawasakis too much. Even tho I know the kdx's are great bikes.

I stumbled upon this. It's not too far from me. Looks to be in great shape.

From the picture, which pictures can be deceiving, it looks like it was ridden twice. Go get it.

Wow, that's awesome looking !
In case you don't get it, have you looked at the GPX TSE250R.
As a former IT owner, I missed my 2 strokes. Sold my DRZ and bought the GPX. I'd say it a modern IT, actually I say that!
It's motor is similar to the WR, but based on the DT230 Lanza.

I'm not looking to spend that much. If I was I would probably spend that on a 2 year old Yamaha or Honda first.

So, you have one of those?

Yes, suggested retail isn't what I paid. But not what that WR costs, either! When I was looking that WR would have been 2000. No electric start either. Can't afford an XTrainer. And used would have been about the same price as my TSE.
There are some you tube videos on the GPX's, taking some abuse.
Hope you get the WR

How long have you had the GPX?

I owned a Canadian DT200R dual sport with the same motor. The engine is a very smooth 6 speed. Mine had a battery operated power valve and an auto lube oil injection. The WR doesn’t have the oil pump but I’m not sure how the power valve operates. I rode my for thousands of miles on the street and tight single track. It was a really tough bike. I believe the WR isn’t as light as a KDX and the parts might be hard to get now. Australia sold them as street legal bikes into the late 90’s.

As far as that GPX brand I suspect they are made in China so stay clear.

That looks like a really nice bike but parts availability would be my concern as well.

I've had mine since mid August. I DS, so its street legal. Its met my expectations. An electronic start street legal 2 stroke Enduro. Other owners have ridden their's longer, and I suspect a lot harder than I. RMATVMC has had one, and has added GPX to their site.

Yes GPX is made in China.

Not pissing, you might need a Doc.

You obviously aren’t familiar with the saying.
