And that right there is enough reason to do it in my book.  :prof:

But a well-freshened steel-framed bike will still turn heads, especially in a sea of aluminum bikes. I therefore agree with zeke383; SSS forks would make that bike a standout.

An aluminum frame is not an upgrade it is a downgrade. Keep the steel frame it’s vastly superior. Just my 2 cents.

Upgrade the suspension, leave the frame.

I know this isn't the answer to your post, but this would be my vote too! I like the steel frame. Upgrading your suspension will be a much bigger bang for your buck.

This is like saying a BR8ES spark plug is vastly superior to a BR8EIX iridium spark plug.

This is what happens to a steel frame under a local A rider. Frame is a 02 bike has sss forks but mostly stock. Look at that crack above the exhaust Y section.

I mean, a 16 year old bike under an A guy on an mx track? Yeah. Most steely guys are woods riders and definitely not A Mx racers. A mx racers are on newer bikes. Hell, I want an aluminum yz just for C mx action.
