Any of you Beta guys watching Dakar?

Recommended Posts

Always love watching the Dakar. Toughest and most demanding off road race on the planet.

Fascinating watching the different classes besides bikes. Peterhansel is unbelievable and Deprese might be the best off road rider in history with multiple Romaniacs and Dakar victories.

Hoping Ricky Brabec and Andrew Short have great races as the top US riders.

Also you can get it online on  Eurosport Player, pay 1 month subscription of £9.99 & get all of Eurosport channels including a couple of 30 minute Dakar programmes a day, plus coverage of other races. I'll try to put a link below....

I was wondering if Laia was racing. She didn't get any airtime on tv

I follow her on social media, she is in the game. sorting out the bike still. After seeing her at the Baja Beach Bash I became a fan.

Hanging out with Johnny and Cameron.

NBC showed a couple of women riders on opening day, but no Laia. She's arguably the fastest, most well versed female offroad racer today

She's legit. She's usually top 20 overall.

Ludivine Puy (Lulu) used to dominate the women years ago. She was both fast and beautiful! Great combo!

Surprised to see Robbie Gordon driving the side x side class.

Yeah, kinda surprised as well. He was much more fun with the Hummer!

Crazy day today! I won't spoil it, but wow, just wow!
Lots of drama all around. Some broken hearts, that's for sure.

The shots of the bikes racing on the beach are phenomenal. Five guys pegged, bikes wiggling around, and then another rider sweeping in from the side - crazy. Real skill on the helicopter pilots that are filming in the dunes as well.

Hoping that Brabec gets back to the front - he got screwed a little following Walkner. I guess that's why everybody gets a route sheet though.

*SPOILER if you haven't watched*

I'd have liked to have seen what Barreda came across. For someone with that skillset to not even be able to get their bike out? Must have been pretty gnarly.
