california Saturday Ride

Recommended Posts

Saturday looks clear.

It's time to ride.  Still seeing if any of those F50C guys will leave burned out Stoney for some non-burned trees.

Should be a killer day.

I am riding lower, but I believe snow is about 5K.  There is plenty to ride.

It was an epic ride. I planned on taken it easy due to not riding for couple of years. We ended up going all out and scouted an escape route for a new section too.

Eldo found a point and shoot hill climb that had to be switch backed through the over burden to get where the soil started working. It was easier than dragging bikes under a fat log, only other escape route option. That would of happened if we could wear our hair into man buns.

Bunny trails all day.

Nothing like dropping into a trail that there was no way you are going back up what you came down.

That trail played out great, and has lots of potential.  A little chain saw work and it will be perfect.

Temps were not too bad, but it showered on and off most of the day.  Every tree and bush would drench you when you bumped it.  That is just part of winter riding.

The moss covered rocks, when rained on, proved to be extremely slick.  They would have been easier if covered in snow.  Plus, going off would be a big ordeal getting the bike back up on the trail.

A good water crossing that was steep and we had to kick in a footing to make the side of it ride-able.

Great time, and BigStick530 kicked ass.  It was supposed to be an easier get back into riding but soon degenerated to.....something.

Can't wait for Saturday, it will be awesome.  Much warmer and drier conditions.
