Runaway idle

Hey all. Been a while. But here’s the problem. Hav a 2018 husky tx300. Stock. Last fall bike had so idle issues would not idle without choke. So pulled carb cleaned wiped reinstalled. First ride this year cable felt like it was sticking would just start reving up not bad manageable but not right. Replaced cable first ride negotiating some bad car ruts to the trail crossed the road clutched and feathered throttle hit the trail and reved so bad when released clutch bike stood up on end. Out of control. Couple buddies rode the bike with same results. Intermittently just takes off only way to control is hard breaking or ride in 3 or 4th gears. Anyone have any ideas.

Sounds lean, what's your spark plug look like?

Plug is wet. Blue smoke is a good sign. Plug to me and ride buddies looks normal

That's weird.... and it runs away? Does the slide snap back when you twist the throttle and let go?

And it’s intermittent. For instance I’ll come out of a corner get to the strait away and it will just like hit the turbo switch. Need to ride the brake and feather clutch with throttle full off. Throttle is not sticky roll it on any position and it springs to off.

You pulled the carb:

1.  Could be an intermittent air leak at the reed block or carb manifold.

2. Are you certain the carb slide / return spring are in there properly and moving freely?

3. Check the throttle housing to ensure it rotates freely

4. Check the throttle cable routing to ensure it is not being twisted or sharply bent when the bars are turned.

Make sure you're not running a sloppy throttle with too much free twist. Should have virtually none, just enough to be able to tell that it does have "some" when the throttle is closed.

Check your Power Valve.

Yes. It returns no matter how much throttle is applied

2. Are you certain the carb slide / return spring are in there properly and moving freely?
3. Check the throttle housing to ensure it rotates freely
4. Check the throttle cable routing to ensure it is not being twisted or sharply bent when the bars are turned.

Pulled the carb. Sprayed carb cleaner as it’s running did notice some increase in rpm on front clamp. Loosened both front and rear. Re adjusted carb tightened clamps. Rpm did not climb.
