XR200 for vintage racing

Recommended Posts

My choice would be 86-02 because of better geometry and frame stiffness, the chassis is based on the 84-85 XR200R/250R. You should use 84-91 forks and shock for suspension. However not all organizations allow linkage.
So most important is to check with the organizers for equipment requirements. The reason for checking is not all regions have the sames rules and while some classes may allow linkage for some models, most don't which means using a 79-84 XR185/200 twin shock chassis, unless they allow an engine chassis mismatch.

Here ya go. Last time I vintage raced it was 3 yrs. ago. That was the last time there was a vintageIMG_3464.JPG.2a87703808a166d6cb119276e8d58a73.JPG race anywhere near me. I went 1/1 for a 1st overall. A kid (he was probably 30) finished behind me for 2nd in both motos on an 87 CR125. That CR was super clean too. Looking at it I was thinking; "man, I could rock on that thing".
