Rear tire max size, 89 rmx

I have a 110/100/18 now. Would like opinions on larger tire? Unless ground is perfect, when it hits ,no traction? Recommend a good all purpose for mostly hard dirt, and some cow tromped lanes? Interco teraflex 15psi currently?

Pirelli Mt16 Garacross 120/100-18 with 12-15psi

First try lowering the pressure to 10-12psi  

 

120 versus 110 wide has some pros/cons

A wider may offer better straight line traction but a narrower tire will usually work better at everything else (handling, cornering etc.)

So a different tire, same size?.

Your current tire is still in decent shape, try lowering the pressure first.

Also keep in mind suspension adjustments play a big part in traction.

I had a 120 on my 93 Rmx when you lower the pressure the tire hits the chain when turning right. So I went to a 110.

Try adjusting your technique. Roll on the throttle a little more carefully. Or run the bike one gear higher.

Other things you can try are backing off a bit on the rear preload/compression dampening, lowering tire pressure, different tire/softer compound.

Ok, I softened my suspension a tad. Ordered the Pirelli u-all recommended, went with 110/100/18.  For sure its softer than mine, its 10+ years old. Had a cold spell here in east TN, fire in stove, tire warming now for install. Glad I did this, found a leak in tujbe, patched now. If the brandy don't  get me first, itll be installed tonight? Benn a while since I had a new tire, best I remember, they HOOK Extremely well, for a while? Report back tomorrow, mabe( gotta take kids to egg hunt first?  ).
