Needle drop test on Keihin PWK jet block

Recommended Posts

I’m sure most of the kdx guys have seen the video. But there’s a theory that the depth a needle falls into the jet block can be used to determine if the block itself is so worn that the carb is basically untunable. I have a carb that doesn’t respond to air screw adjustments and is only able to idle with the idle screw all in.

What everyone’s thoughts?

depends on how that compares to a new one....maybe.

I would guess that the majority of wear is in one sector and you may not see a significantly different reading even with a very worn jet.
