Poor fitting air box cover

I have a 2013 200 xcw that has a poor fitting airbox cover.  If i line it up against the fender correctly, the bottom snap pin is over half and inch off and the front edge of the cover does not line up with front of airbox.  If i dont put the back tabs into the fender and line up the two pins, the back of the cover is way high.  I bought a new polisport cover and it fits the same.  Im guessing its the air box, but thought i would ask here, before i waste any more money on parts

I had something similar happen and it was the air box. It was just old and distorted. Mine wasn't that far off, but enough to annoy me.

Probably the air box needs replacing. Unless you sent it and crashed the bike hard and the subframe is tweaked.

Im doing a 09 to 13 frame swap.  I got the plasics as part of the deal with the frame.   So i dont really know the history of the plastic.  The subframe is new though.

 

 

Does anyone know if a new oem aibox includes the metal clips?

the back side mounts go in first, otherwise plastic doesnt completely change that much

It doesn't have the clips.

New airbox arrived today.  Cover seems to line up perfectly.  

For future reference, the oem box comes with the clips.
