Not married to the idea of the Cycra if there’s a good argument for the EE.

Cycras just seem eager to move around more after a crash than other brands. Please note, I'm doing less crashing so my recent comparisons aren't as relevant to years ago. :busted:

So what is the deal with the green thing under the cap? I replaced the stock coolant on my ‘19 300rr with Engine Ice already.

After about a week after I got mine I could hear boiling from the radiator.  Well it wasn't the radiator.  It was the gas tank bubbles trying to escape. Asked on th his forum and was told it was that.  Took it out and haven't heard a thing since. Also  it can fall apart and shut in the bottom of your tank. Someone just posted this just a few days ago.

Alright....took the Beta out today for a ride.

All I can say is WOW!

I’m pretty happy with it.

That engine is fantastic. We hit some slow, tight, steep technical switchbacks, and that engine will lug and pull like crazy.

Has me really rethinking the Rekluse for now.

That being said, I’d like to find a way to lighten the clutch pull and adjust the reach of the lever.

Suspension I liked and didn’t like. I am in the weight range for the stock springs, so it’s a fair  assessment.

Started out with too much rebound. Need to work on that.

With faster bigger hits, jumps, G outs, the mid to bottom works really well.

Now...top to mid seems harsh when clicking up a gear and trying to skim over rocky or rooted sections. I need to go back out and spend a day playing with the clickers to see if I can improve that.

Before doing that, tires and mousse’s of choice need to go on. Results could alter if done before.

Stock rear tire worked pretty well.

Stock front, I did not like. Can’t wait to change that.

Wasn’t a fan of the stock grips by the end of the day.

Overall, really awesome day. I have to sit down and rethink the parts list.

Cycra? Ew! Get enduro engineering. JMO

Any issues installing the EE using the bar clamps it comes with?

Is there enough room for the bar clamps?

Any of the lines get in the way?

In a number of product descriptions I’ve seen the suggestion to use the 4 stroke clutch line because it’s shaped differently.

Don’t have them on my beta. Recently purchased for the kx100. The plastic mounting system is a little weak. Just a few minor spills and they’re looking hammered. Cycra stronger there. If you get the threaded bar inserts from G2 I’m sure the cycra won’t move at all. Here’s some pics on a non comparable bike. No cable fitment issues.

I did not like the Cycra hand guards either when i had them on my AJP, but then i found the clamps in this picture and it helped a lot. I had highway dirtbike hand guards on my KTM and that is what i was going to buy for the beta, but i wanted to ride and the Cycra was the only thing the dealer carried. These clams where the first thing i installed on my beta, as i ordered them days after i picked it up. I wont ride with out hand guards,as i ride too much tight single track. My hand guards do not move much with these clamps. These clamps also give me more room on the bars. The cables seem to have more room.

I'm currently running the same bar/handguard clamps as Eric72 on my Beta 300 RR. I think they are made by BRP. On my KTMs I either ran Cycra Pro Bend or Fastway handguards. I would have bought the Fastway handguards if they were selling them when I was looking for handguards. I would still get the Bulletproof radiator guards.

I’ve been looking at the Fastway guards. Seems like they could be a good option.

The Fastways are what we bolt up to every bike not running Flexxbars. They incorporate a Cycra-like (previously licensed I think) bend at the bar end, and attach at the handlebar mount, leaving lots of room on the bars for other attachments like rollcharts or clocks, and if you leave the Nylock slightly loose they don't add stiffness to the bar.

I like how those turned out on the KX.

I’ll have to go that route if the boy destroys the Acerbis on his.

Started exploratory disassembly today.

In order to  familiarize myself with the bike and start preventive maintenance.

Also in  anticipation for parts to start arriving.

So far, working on this bike is a little bit different than say...my YZ.

Have you decided on grips yet?

It does appear that Beta has put in some extra effort to seal up the dreaded diode/capacitor.

I think I would prefer to not have the grab handles and do away with the direct path for larger debris getting into the air box.

I have seen the foam mods to help combat this.

In wet muddy conditions I might consider sealing those grab handle openings completely.

Anybody know what this connector is for?

Sits right above the diode/capacitor. CF305C5D-6E13-4FF3-91FC-6411EB2A1121.jpeg.31bc6b4c9edfa705b89e55a490d4cb3a.jpeg

Nothing arrived today. ?

But I did make it through the wiring harness in the headlight area.

Zip-ties, dialectic grease, heat shrink and electrical tape.

I’ll try and hit the frame area tomorrow.

This thing has a lot of wires and connectors.  Sheesh.
