My ‘19 300rr Race Journal

Kickstart came in.

Went through the instructions and it doesn’t look too difficult.

Before installing it I have to decide on the clutch or not.

Also....what to do regarding a fan.

And....if I should yank the T-stat. Maybe a Samco hose kit to eliminate it. ?

The problem with bikes , you can spend and spend and still be thinking of things to spend on it. I've put more on my 300re than any bike I've ever owned.  Well, 2 things more, but I'm getting older and want to make things a little easier for me.? , Still cant bring myself to buy a recluse.  I'm still a man after all.

I hear you, I blame my use of a Rekluse on my advancing years and the fact that I won a Canadian Nat'l title with one on my YZ, the title was in Super Senior - 50 yrs and up. Of course I was at an advantage being that I was 60 so I took advantage of those youngun's, by the way that was 17 years ago - loving my CX in my Beta!!!

Nothing to report today.

But I am going to leave these two alone.

Hopefully, in 9 months, there will be a 125rr Race Edition. ?

It pains me to have to explain this, but since the chores are done and I’m just sitting here waiting for FedEx to show up with my tire....

His truck, not mine.

I’m not driving an hour in the opposite direction to pick him up and drop him off.

Gee whiz! My point is you could have gone alone while he is fixing his truck. One more thing, that yellow door just ain't right!

I’m not really into riding solo.

People have died being on there own. Happened at GT not too long ago.

I’m not trying to put myself in a situation where I have to cut my arm off with a pocket knife because I’m trapped by a rock.

I’ll go by myself to the nearest state OHV to test jetting or suspension. At least there I’m hoping a ranger will lift an eyebrow if my truck is still sitting there in the staging area at the end of the day.

I’ve also gone by myself and linked up with a group in the staging area just to get some seat time.  But it’s unlikely for anybody to be out there on a weekday.

I’d even ride with Kyle before riding alone. .......maybe. ?

He must not be a good friend if you wouldn't help a brother out.

I've never rode a bike yet, that I thought needed one. But , I'm pretty old school. I stopped riding auto bikes when I had a zr50. I was about 8.

Let’s keep in mind he lives the opposite direction of where we were going to ride.

Alright, let’s do some math.

IF....and it’s a big if....traffic is good.

An hour there and an hour back just to pick up and drop off.

That’s at least four hours.

An hour to where we are riding and an hour back.

Now we’re up to six hours at least of just driving.  IF...traffic is good.

Not to mention he needed to try and fix his truck because he actually has to go to work tomorrow.

So....I’m not even close to being in the running for a Blue Falcon award.

We can always go next Monday. IF....his truck is fixed. ?

Rear tire and mousse were supposed to happen today.

39F07DE6-9978-40B0-BF9A-4A2A344003E4.thumb.jpeg.6b9452e5252a784ca12c365179fa5c17.jpeg

But it turned into a giant cluster-f.

Had that tire and mousse on and of the wheel five times today trying to figure out why it wouldn’t bead up and stay beaded.

About 1/4 of the tire on both side wouldn’t stay put

Same combo that’s on the other bike.

I tried everything I could think of.

Even rode on it a little bit.

I could get the bead to pop up by using some air, but as soon as I stopped and there wasn’t any air pressure it would suck back in.

I’ve never had this issue.

Don’t know if it’s a tire issue, a mousse issue, or maybe this tire and mousse just don’t like each other.

So, tomorrow I think I’m going to break down the YZ rear wheel and try some different combos.

Maybe new tire older mousse will work.
