Dirt bike stuck in 2nd gear

I am really interested in buying a rm125 2005 and I’m new to mechanics I’ve only worked on a 50cc so I would like to know how I would fix a rm125 that’s stuck in 2nd gear

Take the trans apart.

It could be a problem with the shift shaft or shifter pawl...   I'd remove the right side engine cover (presumably clutch side), probably the clutch.  you should be able to assess the condition of the shifter at that point as well as trying to manualy rotate the shift drum.   If the drum is seized, you'll need to get into the trans.

That's a pretty tough fix, luckily it's a 2T though.

Fixed bunch of these rm125s stuck in gear. The shiftdrum get a wear spot and fork gets stuck. 80$ part
