You must not be married.  Seems like every time I look there's a new bike build.

Congrats!

I paid the wife off, that always works.

This bike will replace my fx 350 that just isn’t working out.

Ahh. That makes more sense.  Good for you. Welcome to the dark side.

I had a two stroke, the TE300 2016 and while I loved the bike for the most part, the tuning and wonky starter drove me nuts. I should have bought the 300 tpi in February but was irrationally jaded and tried to make the fx350 work as a gnar bike...just isn't happening. So, I'll take a financial bath on that and pick up the 2020.

I've ridden Dan's (My Mechanic and friend) 19 ktm 300tpi and loved it.

Ok...penciling needs...

My dealer is letting me buy all gear/merchandise/parts for only 15% over dealer cost. Substantial savings so I may as well fill up the cart at purchase.

  • Upgraded cyclops bulb... can I swap from my 18 fx350?
  • HDB handguards transfer from 350 along with Scotts mount etc...
  • Radiator fan
  • Does the bike come with a tachometer?
  • Blinkers front and back...
  • Muffler, spark arrestor...FMF
  • Horn kit
  • sxs skid and link guard
  • Grips
  • Rear disk guard...can it swap from 350?
  • Springs
  • Oils

I may upgrade the expansion chamber, but I'll ride it for a while first. Can anyone comment on whether the fatty/gnarly for these new bikes had much of a payoff?

Anyone have suggestions or things I'm missing?

These wheels, do they swap with the 2018 model bikes?

Can use the light switch off your 350 or buy a new one and there is no need to upgrade the stator. It puts out 196w

Wheels will swap just fine.  You will need the correct spacers for the smaller axel.

So this is where you're lurking after being punted from AdvRider.  Now I know where to go for my daily laugh!  :)

Grats on the 300 TPI.  I picked up a 18' 300 Six Day last year (wife actually bought it for me for my b-day) and love everything but the Mikuni (I've got it dialed in 95% now).  Looking forward to seeing what you do with this ride.  Still have the 17' 450FE?

After I watched your 350 build, I bought a 2020 te 300

Good call.

My fx350 was a very good machine, but it wasn't perfect. She will always be remembered for a very, very famous ride....legend...

I'll post a vid up once it's done....

Good to hear from you. The 16 450 was replaced by a very incredible and awesome 18 450.

Looks sweet!

Well you probably already have this stuff but as long as you are stocking up with a deal from the dealer....

Rad fluid - Engine Ice or what ever you use.

I'd consider throwing a Boyesen Supercooler waterpump on there

Extra air filters, oil and cleaner (telling you no toil is the way to go)

Front and rear wheel bearing service set

Maybe even swingarm and linkage bearing service set

Swingarm protector so you can rip it off at Walker Valley

Wider pegs

More protection - fork leg ends, fork tubes (I have finally added Acerbis protectors on the end of my forks, still don't have any front disc pro)

Seat? Husky seats help you want to stand up as you know.

Klim stuff - you will never find current Klim gear on discount.

If you are gonna dink around with rear chainrings you might want to stock up on a chain and some rings if you don't already have some laying around

Edit - Btw call Cyclops and they can tell you if the bulb is going to fit, and they also do DOT inspections and Covington Licensing is just down the road 10 minutes and they are all up to speed on licensing converted dirt bikes. Doesn't sound like much but man was it smooth and trouble free getting my tabs there.

Congrats on the bike. You're going to love that '20, and I look forward to some videos with no music ;)

I'll be curious to see what you think of the 2020! I'm going to buy a bike at the end of this summer or next, Probably go Beta, Sherco or KTM 300. I'm out in Jackson Wyoming for the summer if you make it out this way there's some great riding!

Bullet Proof Designs swingarm tab protector, it also protects the otherwise exposed bolt head at the front of the rear chain guide. May as well upgrade to a TMD chain guide as well.
