Spoke tightening

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I’ve been tightening the spokes on my bike using the rule of starting at the locking nut and doing everything 3rd spoke working round the wheel 3 times to cover all spikes.

This works fine for the rear but on the front after one rotation I end up back on the spoke I started, so I’m not going to hit every spoke using this method. Should I just pick the next spoke along after each rotation and do the same a third time to cover all?

I notice there’s 36 spokes on the front but 32 on the rear.

Thanks

That's exactly what you want to do.  You want to systematically do all spokes, and you've found the easiest way to do it. IMHO
