Help: 2005 yz250f jetting issues!

Recommended Posts

I have a 2005 yz250f that has an issue. If I run it lean then it has a hanging idle so I adjust the pilot screw out until the hanging idle is gone and then it won’t idle at all even with the idle screw all the way in. I’m out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Possibly a worn or damaged throttle slide vacuum plate & seal.

Throttle slide is in good shape. Any other suggestions

I too have an idling issue on my 2003 YZ 250 F. And it’s interesting that you mentioned the hot start. At one time, a mechanic couldn’t get the hot start out of the carburetor so he drilled it out. Ever since, the plunger seems loose and it doesn’t seem to tighten down all the way. Is there anyway to plug it up altogether at least long enough to see if that’s my problem?

There should be an o-ring on the "piston" part of the hotstart, which act as the seal, atleast on the cable operated ones.
