Kx85 keeps killing coils

01 kx 85 keeps cooking the coil I have tested stator changed to a known good vortex ignition CDI box , new coil will run for about 5 minutes then it’s junk. Has anyone ever seen this issue before?

Stupid question but are the ground points on the frame clean?

Cleaned and cleaned again it started when the bike got swamped by a pressure washer but stator was dry as a bone checked all wires for continuity and resistance in both coils is good I’m going to try a new stator it’s the last thing that has not been changed out

Were they OEM coils (purchased from a reputable source)

or aftermarket replacement parts (EBay & etc. specials)

Are the coils testing bad, like an open or short circuit?

Coils can shit the bed like anything else but they usually do it on their terms.  If the plug gap is reasonable and there isn't excessive resistance in the wire or cap I don't know how the coil could be getting hurt.
