Big problem NO insurance with new job 24k to get fixed and 3 months out of work .

in all seriousness I hope you heal up good, and it’s not too much of a burden getting bills sorted.

I’m not one to usually recommend lawyers but I’m assuming this was a cow that got out of a pasture somewhere, right? The rancher should have insurance as his property injured you and your property. No fault of yours and the negligence of others. I wouldn’t sue him for everything he has, but I would certainly try to get 24k from him!

It looks like Idaho is an open range state. OP may be out of luck trying to sue the cows owner. Try negotiating with the hospital to make cash payments for a reduced price. Most will work something out.

Good point. I’m on the east coast and forgot about open ranges.
