Don’t know if it’s been said yet, but on PulpMX they mentioned ktm might pull some funding from mx to focus on motogp

I personally think AC is going to surprise many in SX this year. He is a SX specialist and as long as he can keep it on two wheels he will be a factor every week. With his new found confidence and attitude it wouldn't surprise me if he was a threat for the Championship.

The goal was to make KTM the motogp team and Husky the mx team.

Hmm.  Downsize how?  I would imagine they'd still want 2 riders each for HSQ and KTM 450 teams.

Drop their dismal 250 effort?

As much as I love KTM and feel that they have a fantastic program, their 250 program has not shown much consistency. They would probably see a lot more success if they could acquire and develop talent earlier on. It would also allow riders to adapt to their equipment, and for KTM to develop new equipment based on their needs. Remember when KTM sucked?! But keeping Dungey allowed Decoster to develop the bike that Dunger never lost a title on. KTM needs to get the right talent earlier on and keep them. Yamaha, on the other hand, has a lot of success in the 250's but either can't keep their riders or doesn't make a bike that suits them. The manufacturer that puts it all together first will rise to the top of an industry that currently wide open for any of them right now.

They probably can't afford a better 250 ama effort

450 mxgp costs a ton how many riders ? 6?
250 mx2 not cheap

Ama 450 not cheap
Husky teams as well
Then 250 ama ,I think the money ran out ?

I think K.T.M. will be just fine.  They need to downsize instead of saturating the class with a bunch of bikes.  Get 1 or 2 high end riders instead.   An they have a good 250 effort now with some good talent, just not "that guy".  The problem is probably the bike but don't say that!  When a very good rider like McElrath states he has been working very hard on getting the bike right all year and it's finally paying off....could it be the K.T.M.  250 just sucks?

As expensive as MX/SX is in the AMA and FIM, it pales in comparison to the huge money pit that the MotoGP requires.

It's too stiff in frame ,no secret

 

The 17 was a better bike than the 19 ,the 18 lost power with mapping changes
