I've seen similar products used in Road Racing. The concept, I think, is that the ribs help keep your protective gear off your body. This allows for a "dead" space to exsist to allow for air circulation.

Did read the web site details, so I don't know if that applies here.

actually the vest is 65'F and stays cold for 4 hours. I just was wondering if it really works.
