Am I going to buy a SCAM bike? (Urgent help please)

Hi,
 As much as I want to say that I found my dream bike, something seems a bit off.

Can someone please confirm this is a 2008-250cc??  (That's all I know)

I can't find that engine anywhere in google for a 2008 250.. 
Is it possible it has had an engine swap??

The seller doesn't know much about it, it was inherited to him from his cousin.

I'm gonna say a crf230f could be a 2008 not sure but they did build them that year and  the crf230f is air cooled and has electric start just like your picture shows. Tires look small though looks like a kids bike.

Get the frame VIN and engine number. But based on the pictures, it is a Chinese bike that has been frankisized.

Does he have the title? Is the cousin 'out of state' for 3 to 5?

I have notified the seller I'm passing on this bike. I think he sincerely doesn't know what he inherited.. but doesn't mean I'm going to buy it.

Good call on the pass. 

When on a budget patience, constantly checking the classifieds, and knowing when a good deal is too good to be true are key. There are decent bikes out there that people are selling cheap though. Good luck on the search

I think you repeated yourself there; by nature, aren't all Chinese bikes Frankenbikes of some sort?

Nah, some are pretty nicely made machines. It is just the little bikes that seem to be crappy put of the box.

However, many an owner, even one that got a nice bike brand new, 'frankenbikes' it as they try to cheap out using second rate service parts. Cheapo levers that while can be stuffed in the perch, do not fit that well. After market cables. mismatching bolts. Poor fitting plastics. Then they are amazed the bikes value is less than average.
