2017 FC250 starting question.

Recommended Posts

2017 FC250. I tried starting this bike like I typically would my WR250f and killed the battery quite fast.

I have since read the proper procedure is the following...with empesis on #2 and 3.

1-Push Choke in.

2-Hit the start button quickly just to get pump etc cycled.

3-Wait 5/10seconds and do it again.

4-Push and hold the start button until the bike fires.

5-Let idle

6-Twist throttle forward to push out choke

Correct?

You probably just need a new battery. I rode my bike exactly 1 month ago. It started then with no problem. I go out to start it last night and it would barely crank. It had 12.5v but the starter would draw it down to 4.5v. I bought a new battery and it fired right up. They die off real quick, not much warning. I was told to charge it every couple weeks and should get 4-5 years out of it.
