1998 cr125 plastics

Recommended Posts

In my eyes the 98 has no need for a restyle kit.

Just some minor mods help it in appereance

I cut the huge sideplates some which has a really big effect98-15-sideplate.jpg.48540db5a89cdbbbc4d06e967e04c6fb.jpg

And i put a ca. 2005 front  fender on it...that's it!

This 1998 CR 125 was my last racebike before i quit doing championships. I kept it ever since...it has a '91 Mugen kit...i use it still very frequently. Itis always serviced and maintained to perfection and runs great:

I started with an angle grinder. Its signs you can still see on the cut off parts. Then obviously i used files and emery clothes to do the final touch but the first cut was done using a simple angle grinder.

By the way - the front fender i use is a vented model by CYCRA. Note the white, drilled out backside! It allows for airflow going through the fender which to me seems important on those year bikes as the single radiator hampered cooling quite a bit. All the middle section of the radiator behind the fender usually gets no airflow at all so this fender really helps it. You guys might remember that the factory bikes of those years still had regular twin-radiators (Stefan Everts bikes). That's because the single radiator really had less cooling efficiency. This fender helps !

That graphics and seat kit are so dope man. Is that custom or is that something that is available out there.

Off topic but if the OP is going for the GP racer/World MX Champion from the '80's and early '90's with his username, the name is Georges Jobe. :ride:
Nice bike Nino.

Lol[emoji23]I know who you’re talking about but I am not copying his name or anything. Like that’s my birth given name

I originally had HRC replica graphics which were pretty similar and there was also that seatcover included. Afterall these years the graphics&plastics needed to be replaced so i had the graphics done with some custom details and additions and also made to fit my cut sideplates...the seatcover is still the one off the original kit though. I'm glad i found another such seatcover on Ebay a couple years ago as the one i have now is opretty worn and needs to be replaced.

Below one of the pre-prints i got from mx-print.de who did them for me

...and this was a tribute done on Ken Roczens CRF450....i still think that this design is one of the best looking to date.

....also the Geico-Bikes this year had a similar design:

That’s awesome. I currently have a 1997 cr125 and would really like to get something that looks like that. Do you think if I contact hrc they’d be able to hook it up for my year bike with those graphics? Thanks man.

Go ahead!

Just contact them:

http://www.mx-print.de/kontakt.php

Oliver, the main man there, should be able to communicate in english as well. Just tell him Nino from Switzerland sent you! He can do you whatever you want. This way you would already have the outer shape of the sideplates too... He has the shape already so you can add details you want. He also did all of my "Vintage"-Jerseys as well as the numberplates and graphics on my '89s
