2000 yz125 to 2004 yz125 subframe swap

Recommended Posts

Doesn’t have to be a 2004. Any 2002 up will do.

In the long run, it’s like the UN (un-necessary)

Need: fuel cell (fabricate brackets to mount), seat, subframe (re-weld lower on frame, or fabricate brackets), air box, and appropriate plastics.

There are a few threads in here, use the search function.

So I probobly would not be worth the time and hassle and frame butcher just to do that rather than just leaving the original style plastics on with a newer front fender and number plate??

Yep, I did that to a 2001. Probably would have looked good with even the 2006-14 fender.

So how did you get the decal kit for the 96-01 kit, but with the proper decals for the newer front fender and number plate? Did you message the seller to request different front graphics? Sick bike by the way, very interested in doing something similar.

PrintSol will work with you as he did me on eBay messenger. Told him what I was doing and we proofed it about 3 times to be exactly that.
Thanks, was a long sale but I wasn’t taking less.

I know its been a while since this thread has been active, but after a long winter of ripping the bike apart I finally finished it. Thanks for steering me in the right direction and for the inspiration @YZDOC The bike is a 2000 yz125 that's bigbored to 144 (hence the number plate) and is street legal. I am running a 2020 number plate and front fender, but for reasons listed above did not alter anything else frame or plastic wise.
