rowe471 Posted September 30, 2019 recently sold the 17x and got an 02 yz250 to build and its in great shape. my buddy bought the sss forks for his 05. i have the option to buy his 05 forks. question is would you rather have the 02 forks or the 05 forks? i know they call the 05 forks unicorns and they couldn't get them to work how they wanted. thoughts on all of this? with pics of the 02. thanks for the help. YZDOC Posted September 30, 2019 Re-valve/spring the 02 to your weight and riding style would be more cost effective, as you would need the triple, press stems, and weld a bigger stop on your frame to accept the Aluminum style lower triple locations, or buy 2004 triple clamps. Mines a 2000 but I bought 04 triples and put 05 forks on and love them vrs the 00, granted my 00 was not valved.
