Street legal kicker

Recommended Posts

I have a 2003 Drz400 kick start only, I have the tusk lighting kit to install onto the bike it has everything included except for a battery. Knowing that the bike does not have a battery, it still has the stator charging the capacitor which powers the stock headlight and a tail light that had been installed by the previous owner. There is an old wiring harness that connects, the headlight, tail light, horn, to the capacitor.

Do I need to remove the old harness from the bike, if so, how should I power the bike.

I was thinking to buy a battery and somehow rewiring the stator to charge the battery and then having the battery power all the lighting.

What is my best option with this whole kit, I've heard of some people blowing bulbs and having to convert AC DC power, I am not familiar with much wiring so please help me out.
