Fox Racing Bomber Motocross Boots Any Good?

Recommended Posts

Sorry but I couldn't find a thread dedicated to MX boots, so I'm wondering if anyone has tried these boots and if so, what are your thoughts?  My wife asked if I wanted some new boots for Christmas, so I started looking around and found these.  I've gotten out of MX riding and doing more trail riding, so I thought these might be a good pair to try.

I wouldn't trail ride in those period. Totally inadequate in the protective department. Is there something attracting you and if so, what? Much better options for sure that are comfortable, durable and far more protective.

Those are ridiculous! I can't envision a reason for wearing them.

I rode with a pair of Fox enduro boots for a couple of years. They were taller and more substantial than the ones linked by the @OP
I retired them and got some TCX. The Fox boots were comfortable but after a short while, had zero support for your ankle.  The TCX are like other high end boots, they have a hinge that allows the ankle to flex for the brake and shift, but they will not let your ankle roll to the outside or inside

Not sure why those are being called MX boots. They look more like something that a pit crew might wear.

I guess they would be fine as long as you wore some shin guards and just did some Sunday after noon trail rides. They for sure would be flexible and comfortable?

That's what I'm hoping, to me they look pretty comfortable, I'm coming up on 50 and my track days are pretty much done, if I decide to go I still have some full length boots, I was just looking for something a little more durable than some steel toed boots I may slip on just to do some trail riding.

This might provide more protection while providing the comfort you are looking for. Forma quality is pretty good. Forma adventure low

I will start with the fact that I haven't tried that specific model, but please hear me out: Those are no better than 8" work boots. IMO they have no business being within 6' of a dirt bike. For your well being stick with full length, many excellent options out there. What are your normal moto boots?

What is with this burning desire to wear a low boot? Don't be ridiculous. Trail riding is actually more dangerous than MX when it comes to things that can hurt you. ATGATT. And that means the right gear.
