Just got a ’87 Sp200

Recommended Posts

So recently blew my xt225 which I loved dearly, then started riding rode my old 67 Honda cl160 overdue for a rebuild, blah blah blah sold the 67, and bought this 87 for the same, so it’s like I traded, because I rather be 50/50 off-roading because I’m a fool like that. Changed the sprockets to 14/39 and it woke it up better and cruises 45 much nicer, much better gearing for street and still nice off-road in 1-2 as I’m no pro but I like just cruising off-road like I’m on a big horned ram or somethin and this bike has a nice grunt. I don’t like bigger bikes as I’m not a big guy but I’d feel comfortable on it doing the tat. Changed out the air filter, cleaned carb, adjusted valves etc. the old ac looked like an old couch cushion. 662382F4-8314-4C4A-AEB7-BF1FD2677E22.jpg635F1A41-1A8F-4DAD-AEC9-F0768FD29A97.jpgIMG_1178.JPG

Also is there anyway to put in maybe the sp125 6 speed in it? That’s one thing I liked about the xt225, sixth gear made 55 cruise nice.

One of the cogs in the 6spd will hit the crank.  It can machined away, but it will necessitate a $300 balance job on the crank.
