Understanding Arm Pump in Motocross Riders

Recommended Posts

For my final year university project at Loughborough University, I am investigating arm pump in motocross riders. If you have ridden motocross bikes for practice or racing and you are over the age of 18 please can you complete my 10-minute survey. Having your input would be of great benefit to investigate a problem that many of us riders have encountered.

Even if you have never experienced arm pump please answer the survey and state so.

All contribution around the topic of motocross would greatly benefit my work.

Thank you so much for your time and contribution.

Please feel free to share my survey with fellow motocross riders of all levels

I can spare you the trouble of doing research.

Problem: Holding too tight.

Solution: Hold less tight. Keep riding.

Two common reasons I find are:

-not squeezing the bike enough with your legs and knees (relying too much on your arms/hands)

-having bad arm 'ergonomics' from a handlebar bend / positioning that doesn't suit the rider
