Apollo 125 Nibbi Carb tuning

Recommended Posts

I’m new here and just have a couple questions. I have an Apollo 125 pit bike, and I bought a new carb for it in hopes of gaining a little more bottom end. So I got it installed it and have been messing with the main jets. It comes with a 105,110,112,115,118. So I just said to hell with it and put the 118 in it and it runs good but bogs  down at high rpms. Should I adjust fuel mixture? change pilot jet? Try a smaller main? Anything helps, thanks in advance.

Bad at WOT is probably the main jet. Try one two or three sizes smaller.

Pilot jet and fuel screw is for idle. Keep in mind, a larger carb will run worse when the throttle is suddenly opened from idle to WOT. Too much of a drop in vacuum. You'll need to have the rpms up already to take advantage (if any) of a large carb.

Just make sure your filter is good. I replaced the carb and kept the stock air filter and it bogged all over. Once I replaced the filter with the new Mikuni, it was a whole new machine. It’s rips now. Apollo 125
