Buying a Battery Tender Lithium Battery... How many CCA do I need?

Recommended Posts

They have a 2.5AH 150CCA for $90 or the 4.5AH 270CCA for $120, plus I will need the tender too. What should I grab?

150 has enough strength.  The 120 was enough to spin over my 434 without a decompression release. It also spun over a Beta 300 like it had no compression at all. However, if you do a lot a start and stop riding, the extra capacity may be beneficial.

Depends on your needs.

If you only need it for starting once in the morning to go to work and once in the afternoon, the 150ca will do.

But if like Ohio said you're riding trails and need frequent cranking, I'd go larger than 150 ca.

I killed the 120cca battery tender few month ago by leaving the Kee on for 36 h , it had around 7 volts , decided to charge it with the regular junior battery tender charger , still working after 2 month , testing like before at 13.4 volts engine off .   It’s very possible that a regular charger won’t work with there new batteries , they do sell lithium junior chargers . Ok
