230 Push start with blown fuse?

Anyone know if the crf230 with push start if the main 7.5a fuse is blown?

I wired my headlight off the keyswitch, a short would blow the main fuse, no big deal if I can still push start it...

I just went out to the garage, started the bike, removed the 7.5amp fuse (not the spare) and the bike stayed running. Care to elaborate?

I was thinking of the fuse powering the solenoid which activates the starter.

Push start can be difficult or impossible in sand, mud, rocks, etc. so I am paranoid about losing electric start.

Note that lights can easily run down the battery with the stock stator.
