KX250f suspension

Recommended Posts

I’ve got a Kx250f and I had recently changed the rear suspension spring. I’m 5’5”-5’6” 125lb. I took the stock off and went to a lighter weight 4.6 rear spring due to my weight. Put it on and I’m still not feeling a change on being able to get my foot on the ground. Any advice??

At 5'5" you would probably have to internally shorten the shock and forks to get your feet on the ground.  You would need like six inches of race sag to get your seat height down and theres no way that's going to happen.

Unless someone has a longer than average inseam

most riders under 5'9" have to tippy-toe and can't flat foot a full-sized MX race bike.

(that means a whole bunch of us)

The spring rate has nothing to do with the seat's height.

No matter what you weigh, the race sag must be set at the same value as any other rider (around 100-110mm)

If you went to a much softer spring than stock to accommodate your weight,

the shock's internals may now be too stiff and require re-valving (clicker settings may help a bit but not enough to compensate)
