Ratio YZ250 04

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have a freshly built yz250 04 2T. It has been broken in, run in, by a shop. I have 800T OFF road motel oil mixed at 31;1 I'm getting a lot of sooge. The oil mix ratio recommends 50:1, is that safe for the engine ? but my bike recommends 30:1.

I'm not sure what to do, or should I just change over to 2T 710 Motul

(My riding is mainly trails, occasional open paddock riding fast).

Replace your silencer's packing, switch to 710, stick to 31:1 and, work on your jetting (leaner pilot and needle settings)

you need to work on jetting as suggested.  If you change the oil/fuel ratio, you need to reject the bike.  Do one at a time.

40:1 is good for a 250, try that.

Trail riding at 40:1 is fine but...

My 04:

32:1 Yamalube 2R - riding altitude and temp: 1500/5000 @ 75/100* - 175/50/50 - red JD needle 2nd from top - AS 1.75

Bike always ran excellent.
