Need to identify bolt w hole.

Recommended Posts

Changing oil on bike. When replacing bolt with a hole in threads that goes through rubber hose it snapped.  There are three bolts under skid plate. It's the bolt next oil drain.

Picture please, sounds like you're drscribing a banjo bolt, for a oil line.

No reason to remove that banjo fitting when changing the oil. You should use new crush gaskets on the drain plugs and a proper torque wrench when tightening them to prevent even worse damage. We've seen many motor cases severely damaged around here from over tightening the oil drain plugs over the years.

I think the sealing washers on that union bolt are copper and therefore can be annealed and reused. No need to buy new ones
