Hesitation Issue

Recommended Posts

I don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I bought a 2008 Yz250f. Its rides fine when on flats. But when I jump and then land, ill get on the gas but it hesitates. There's like a 3 second delay before it actually  goes. I just cleaned the carb and it was pretty clean already. Anyone have any ideas? I was told the boyesen hotshot 3 might help but I want to get as many opinions as possible. Thanks, Levi

Replace the float and float needle, make sure the float needle seat is clean too.

On bigger G outs and hits, it can sink the float and flood the engine. Dropping the float level can help.

But wouldn't it stay flooded? After like 3 seconds is goes again.

No, it clears eventually...which, for you, takes like 3 seconds...

My 426 used to do it too.

Think about it like this, the G forces force the float down into the bowl...over half the float is above the level, that displaces the fuel up through the main jet like a friggin squirter. It's enough to kill the engine with the throttle off.

You could try this: Whack the throttle wide open right before you land hard enough to normally do it. With the extra air, that squirt is going to cause it to go rich, but it wont die (it'll wheelie you over backwards and you'll land on your ass) So dont actually do that LOL..
