Complete Hydraulic Rear Brake Switch Kit?

Recommended Posts

Does anybody make a complete kit, with instructions, to convert the stock plastic Honda rear brake switch to a metal hydraulic unit?

Thanks

When replacing the brake switch, do you have to bleed the rear brake?

Yes, it’s fairly straight forward. If your not familiar with bleeding: Basically fill brake fluid, pump pedal, hold pressure, crack bleeder - the. Repeat. No special tools needed. The AP3 kit only let in a couple bubbles. Basically bleed until it feels strong or no more air.

Thank you, sir.  I just ordered the AP3 unit.  Where does it attach?  I don’t even see it in their picture.

Right on! The harness plugs in right in the middle of the cases, between the emissions canister and rear shock. There will be some pictures in the instructions to help you out. Here is a pic of mine!

Thanks.   Where does the other end attach (the actual switch)?

The switch replaces the brake banjo bolt with a banjo switch. Basically goes between the brake line and rear master cylinder in place of the banjo bolt. This is how KTM/HQV runs their brake switches. 727BCD3E-EF84-4DFE-B4D9-A3736D67B89D.thumb.jpeg.33beb3f06fc7a1a51459358ac8f5a64b.jpeg

Can you please post a pic of how you mounted it on your CRF450L?

You're looking at it... above.  It's pretty easy.

Have a look at this video for a better look at what is going on.
