KLR600 front brake

Recommended Posts

Hi to all, I'm looking for a way to improve my front brake. I'm thinking about replacing the stock master cylinder with an aftermarket one (and using a braided line).

Do you guys have any suggestion for a good aftermarket MC that will work on the KLR600?

Bonus question, what diameter should I be looking for? i don't know what the stock diameter is.

Thanks!

A braided stainless line will be a large improvement on its own. The stock lines are terrible when new, let alone decades old. As far as master cylinders go, I am not sure what will swap. I am using the stock KLR master to power the two piston Nissin caliper on my YZ-F fork swap. I am not sure how the reverse (YZ-F master) would work with the already borderline single piston KLR caliper. Certain years of Honda CR-F models had very powerful front brake setups that are highly desirable for swaps on MX bikes. I think there is a thread or two here on the subject.
